ADIPEC partners with CHOOOSE to enable conference attendees to understand and address their travel-related carbon footprints

ADIPEC, the world’s largest energy conference and exhibition, has announced a new partnership with climate tech company CHOOOSE, the Official Carbon Partner of the event, to help ADIPEC’s participants understand and address their carbon footprint.

Through the partnership, ADIPEC participants – including attendees, delegates, vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders – can estimate their carbon footprint related to their travel and accommodation for the event via CHOOOSE’s carbon calculator web app and take climate action directly through the app.

The multi-modal app will be embedded into ADIPEC’s website, enabling event participants to input the details of their flights and ground transportation to and from the event, as well as their accommodation information, to estimate the carbon footprints of these activities. The app will calculate ADIPEC participants’ resulting carbon emissions according to leading industry calculation methodologies. Participants can then choose to address their carbon emissions by supporting certified, high-impact climate projects that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

The CHOOOSE partnership is part of ADIPEC’s broader sustainability commitment, which includes the Climate Neutral Now Pledge from the UNFCCC to kick off ADIPEC’s robust longer-term Carbon Management Plan. A number of initiatives have been introduced to reduce the environmental footprint of the upcoming edition of the event, including sourcing clean power, reducing waste, and promoting sustainable habits among ADIPEC participants.

The conference and exhibition program for ADIPEC also has a strong focus on decarbonization. ADIPEC’s comprehensive conference program, featuring 350+ sessions across 10 conferences, also seeks to address the world's most pressing climate and energy challenges, with a special focus on decarbonisation and sustainability.

Andreas Slettvoll, CHOOOSE Founder and CEO, will be a speaker at the ADIPEC Decarbonisation Conference, on the topic of ‘Decarbonising aviation: is net-zero air travel achievable?’, taking place on Thursday, 05 October 2023, from 10:00-11:00.
