ADIPEC, the world’s largest energy conference and exhibition, has announced a new partnership with climate tech company CHOOOSE, the Official Carbon Partner of the event, to help ADIPEC’s participants understand and address their carbon footprint.
Through the partnership, ADIPEC participants – including attendees, delegates, vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders – can estimate their carbon footprint related to their travel and accommodation for the event via CHOOOSE’s carbon calculator web app and take climate action directly through the app.
The multi-modal app will be embedded into ADIPEC’s website, enabling event participants to input the details of their flights and ground transportation to and from the event, as well as their accommodation information, to estimate the carbon footprints of these activities. The app will calculate ADIPEC participants’ resulting carbon emissions according to leading industry calculation methodologies. Participants can then choose to address their carbon emissions by supporting certified, high-impact climate projects that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events, and the organiser of ADIPEC, said: “ADIPEC is committed to championing a cleaner, more secure future, by advancing climate action and ensuring that sustainability runs through the entirety of the event, from our own offerings and operations to that of our participants and stakeholders".
“Our theme for this year, Decarbonising. Faster. Together, reinforces our commitment to bringing diverse stakeholder together to accelerate the energy transition. Our partnership with CHOOOSE will help ADIPEC participants better understand their carbon footprint and provide them with qualified options to address the impact of their footprint.”
The CHOOOSE partnership is part of ADIPEC’s broader sustainability commitment, which includes the Climate Neutral Now Pledge from the UNFCCC to kick off ADIPEC’s robust longer-term Carbon Management Plan. A number of initiatives have been introduced to reduce the environmental footprint of the upcoming edition of the event, including sourcing clean power, reducing waste, and promoting sustainable habits among ADIPEC participants.
The conference and exhibition program for ADIPEC also has a strong focus on decarbonization. ADIPEC’s comprehensive conference program, featuring 350+ sessions across 10 conferences, also seeks to address the world's most pressing climate and energy challenges, with a special focus on decarbonisation and sustainability.
Andreas Slettvoll, CHOOOSE Founder and CEO, will be a speaker at the ADIPEC Decarbonisation Conference, on the topic of ‘Decarbonising aviation: is net-zero air travel achievable?’, taking place on Thursday, 05 October 2023, from 10:00-11:00.
“CHOOOSE is proud to collaborate with ADIPEC to make climate action accessible for attendees, delegates, vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders. The partnership will empower event participants to understand and address their travel emissions to and from the event and provide direct access to vetted high-impact climate solutions", said Slettvoll.
During ADIPEC, event attendees can meet with a CHOOOSE representative to discuss their carbon goals and learn more about CHOOOSE’s climate tech software solutions by booking a meeting before the event here.

Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and hosted by ADNOC, ADIPEC will take place in Abu Dhabi from 2-5 October 2023, under the theme of Decarbonising. Faster. Together.
Built on a nearly 40-year legacy of innovation and evolution, ADIPEC brings together the ideas, ambition, technology, and capital needed to decarbonise and create the energy system of the future, faster.
It unites industries and key stakeholders from across the energy ecosystem to accelerate urgent, collective and responsible action, produce credible, game-changing solutions, and foster the transformational progress indispensable for building an inclusive, future-proof energy system.
Across 350 unique sessions comprising strategic and technical conferences, ADIPEC 2023 will welcome more than 1,600 speakers – including government ministers, CEOs, policymakers, energy experts and innovators – to rally industries, sectors and individuals around a common cause.
As the UAE prepares to welcome global leaders to COP28 in November 2023, ADIPEC will help frame diverse conversations that complement the nation’s goal of delivering a COP of collaborative action, while driving investment into the clean energies of the future.
