CHOOOSE joins Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB)

CHOOOSE has recently become a member of The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) to bolster its mission of decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors – with an initial focus on advancing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) within the aviation industry.

The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) today announced the addition of climate tech company CHOOOSE to its membership. CHOOOSE delivers the leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that enables individuals and organizations to understand their carbon footprint, make carbon-informed decisions, and support trusted climate solutions globally. Major enterprises in sectors like aviation, travel, and logistics deploy CHOOOSE to launch, manage, and report on carbon programs, with direct access to vetted climate solutions, including SAF.

By joining the RSB, CHOOOSE will actively collaborate on setting standards and supporting policy discussions that encourage increased production, distribution, and accessibility of truly sustainable SAF through technological advancements, which benefits people and planet.

Recognizing the critical role of SAF in achieving the aviation industry's goal of net-zero CO2 emissions from flight by 2050, CHOOOSE emphasizes the need for collaboration. While SAF is a drop-in fuel and requires no modifications to aircraft equipment or fuelling infrastructure, global production is currently below 1% of jet fuel demand, and it remains considerably more expensive than conventional jet fuel.

“It’s my pleasure to welcome CHOOOSE as our newest member. Their mission of bridging the gap between climate intention and action aligns well with RSB’s commitment to advance the just and sustainable transition to a bio-based and circular economy. At RSB, we’re especially looking forward to developing a collaborative relationship with CHOOOSE, so that we can continue building an ecosystem approach to book and claim – grounded in the credibility and trust of RSB’s approach”, says Elena Schmidt, Executive Director at RSB.

RSB is a collaborative network of global organizations that has been guiding sector transformation to bio-based and circular models for over a decade. RSB’s trusted and peer-reviewed sustainability framework, which is underpinned by its 12 Principles & Criteria, has been developed by the organization’s multi-stakeholder membership community and is a uniquely robust and credible foundation for supporting innovative solutions to the climate crisis.

“CHOOOSE is proud to become an RSB member, and we look forward to working alongside the organization to help decarbonize challenging sectors, particularly aviation. The focus will be on accelerating the commercialization of innovative technologies and scaling the demand and adoption of SAF while ensuring responsible sourcing of fuels,” said Andreas Slettvoll, CEO at CHOOOSE.

As an RSB member, CHOOOSE will actively contribute to the ongoing development of RSB’s sustainability framework and also benefit from a global network that provides access to industry initiatives and policy platforms that shape future markets.
