How Chooose connects with the RSB Book & Claim Registry

Learning resourcesLearning resources

The Chooose platform is connected with the RSB Book & Claim Registry through an API integration.

The integration enables the management of SAF environmental attributes from inventory intake through to retirement — reducing manual work to increase efficiency and help SAF programs grow.

What is an API?

An Application Programming Interface (API) is a standard way systems communicate across software, services, platforms, and devices.

An API allows software to request data or actions from another system, without either needing to know how the other is built internally. It specifies how requests are made, what information can be exchanged, and what responses can be expected. APIs help apps, services, and systems work together efficiently.

What is the RSB Book & Claim Registry?

The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) operates the RSB Book & Claim Registry.

The RSB Book & Claim Registry is a secure digital application that allows companies to decouple environmental attributes from physical renewable fuel and register them as Transferrable Instruments with Entitlement to Claim (TIECs).

What is the Chooose platform? How does the integration work?

The Chooose platform is used across the aviation value chain by airlines, producers, logistics service providers (LSPs), and corporates to manage SAF programs.

Chooose and RSB Book & Claim Registry are integrated via API so that SAF environmental attribute inventory from the RSB registry is mirrored on the Chooose platform:

What does the integration cover?

Automated inventory sync

Inventory registered in the RSB Book & Claim Registry is reflected in the Chooose platform, reducing the need for manual entry.

Processing retirements

Retirement requests with the designated beneficiary are sent from the Chooose platform to the RSB Book & Claim Registry to be completed. Retirements can be requested in bulk or on an individual basis.

End buyer documentation from RSB

RSB issues the Book & Claim Retirement Statement to the beneficiary, providing evidence to support reduction claims.

What does this mean for SAF programs?

Through the RSB and Chooose integration, users will gain access to automated SAF data exchange, harmonised sustainability information, and RSB-issued retirement statements. This helps SAF programs by ensuring that as they grow in scale and size, the manual work to support the programs does not.
